Description
Americans for Democracy & Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB) is seeking several smart, creative, organized, passionate, and hard-working interns for the summer.
Responsibilities

- Assist with advocacy campaigns by conducting research and preparing background memos and other written materials
- Track Bahrain-related news, legislation, and statements by lawmakers and Executive branch officials on a daily basis
- Attend hearings, briefings, and other events
- Research and draft legislative fact sheets and other Hill-related materials
- Prepare content for ADHRB's biweekly newsletter
- Update the website, Facebook, and Twitter, and assist the Communications Associate with other media-related duties
- Translate materials from Arabic to English as needed
- Assist with administrative duties as required

The ideal candidate will:
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in college, or be in graduate school (recent JD, MA, and Ph.D grads are also encouraged to apply)
- Be interested in and knowledgeable about relevant human rights issues (freedom of speech, expression, and association; due process rights; prisoners' rights)
- Have experience working or interning on Capitol Hill or for a non-profit organization
- Be able to demonstrate superb writing skills
- Possess solid organizational and time-management skills
- Be able to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment and discretion
- Be committed to ADHRB's mission
- Be fluent in Arabic (highly desired)
