We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Letter Carrier to deliver the mail. If you take pride in serving the community, enjoy the outdoors, and are available for temporary on-call work, there may be a great opportunity for you with Canada Post.

Note: Applicants residing in a 50 km radius are preferred.

The successful candidate will:
• Collect, sort, sequence and deliver mail items
• Operate portable communication devices
• Load/unload a Postal Vehicle
• Acquire money’s for C.O.D. and signatures for registered mail items
• Complete reports and documentation
• Communicate with customers and the general public
• Present Canada Post in a professional manner
• Maintain and safe guard all mail items and Canada Post property
• Operate a Canada Post Vehicle
• Maintain a satisfactory safe driving record and the appropriate class of provincial driver’s license during their employment with Canada Post when operating a corporate vehicle
• Lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds) and carry mail items weighing up to 15.9 kilograms (35 pounds)

Job requirements (Education and Work experience):
• High School Diploma or provincial equivalent (GED)
• For the past 2 years, held a valid permanent provincial driver’s license.
• For the past 3 years held a satisfactory safe driving record (Driver’s abstract)
• Experience in customer service is an asset
• Experience in a delivery and/or driving role is an asset

This document is required in order to consider your application and can be obtained from the appropriate provincial ministry or agency.

You will be required to pass pre-employment test(s), a security screening, a Pre-Employment Physical Assessment, a Canada Post administered Vision and Road assessment, and an interview. If you are successful in the selection process, you will obtain a conditional offer and you will attend our Letter Carrier Training School. At the end of the training school you must pass 2 tests (a written test and a sortation test) to maintain your employment with Canada Post as part of your probationary period.
