The Discipline of Intelligent Systems in the School of Computer Science and Statistics is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Creative Technologies: Computer Vision on a specific purpose basis to replace the current post holder for the period of their reassignment to another position in College.
The successful candidate will join GV2 (Graphics, Vision and Visualisation): an established and internationally renowned research group which carries out leading edge research in computer graphics, computer vision and all aspects of visual computing. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with other partners in the Centre for Creative Technologies.
The School is looking for an exceptional person with vision and enthusiasm, a proven track record in research in the field of computer vision, and a genuine commitment to the vital role of teaching at all levels. The successful applicant will have a primary degree and PhD in computer science or a related discipline, and will have undertaken significant research in the area of computer vision, ideally with a focus on Interactive Systems and Augmented Reality. The group particularly welcomes applicants who have experience and interest in working in an interdisciplinary setting, most notably with researchers in the fields of psychology and/or the creative arts.
This post is tenable with immediate effect and it is expected that the appointee will be in post by 1stSeptember, 2013.
