The Post
The School of Education, University of Stirling, invites applications for two positions as either readers or professors of Education. These are positions with a focus on research leadership combined with teaching/postgraduate supervision duties. We are interested in attracting innovative, internationally excellent and world-leading researchers who would complement and push forward one or more of our existing research programmes, or who have the vision and capacity to open a significant new area of research.

These are positions with a focus on research leadership combined with teaching/postgraduate supervision duties. We are interested in attracting innovative, internationally excellent and world-leading researchers who would complement and push forward one or more of our existing research programmes, or who have the vision and capacity to open a significant new area of research.
The creation of two new reader or professorial posts is a strategic investment intended to support, develop and extend activity and build on our established reputation for innovation and creativity. The posts are offered as permanent full-time appointments to support the aspirations of the School to be internationally recognised as at the forefront of research and teaching in education.
We aim to attract academics of international standing who will provide leadership in developing innovative research, knowledge exchange and curriculum development. This will be either in one of the School’s existing research programmes or in the development of a new research programme. The successful applicants will have an established international profile in educational research and a significant track record of external grant funding for projects. Support, development and guidance of other staff are key components of the role and academic leadership and the capacity to make a direct contribution to research, teaching and leadership within the programmes of the School are central to this position.
While we seek applicants from across the full range of academic specialism in Education, we are particularly interested in appointing in the areas of digital media and education/e-learning, and TESOL at this time.
