Applications are invited for a lectureship in Animal Ecology to contribute to teaching, curriculum development (potentially to include one or more areas to including ecology, wildlife conservation, animal physiology, animal behaviour in addition to statistical evaluation and biological science skills) research and consultancy, primarily within Biological Sciences. Teaching experience, beyond demonstrating is essential.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in a relevant subject and have (or be about to complete) an appropriately specialist doctorate. Post-doctoral research will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the research and consultancy agenda in the School of Science and have an established publication record which will be sufficient to allow a meaningful submission to the Research Excellence Framework
You will join a highly committed and expanding team providing a range of diploma, degree and post graduate programmes in Biological and Forensic Sciences, with excellent ratings in recent QAA reviews, NSS and RAE08. We expect that you would not only provide an impetus for teaching, curricular development, research and consultancy in your specialist area, but also contribute to the team effort in delivering the programmes for which the whole Subject Area is responsible.
