ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 90 projects in 40 countries.
 
Chief of Party, Liberia
We are seeking Chief of Party candidates for the USDA-funded Livelihood Improvement for Farming Enterprises (LIFE) III project in Liberia. The objectives of LIFE III are to: train cocoa farmers in productivity, business skills and crop diversification; establish nurseries and renew trees; strengthen cocoa marketing by farmer organizations: and improve access to capital. The Chief of Party position is based in Monrovia and will require regional travel. The anticipated start date for this position is June 2013.
Responsibilities:

• provide overall program management, develop a strong, coherent technical vision and initiate innovative strategies across the program
• provide technical leadership on local private sector and producer organization capacity building and training
• manage relationships with local organizations, private sector stakeholders and government bodies
• supervise program operations, technical and administrative personnel, and preparation of periodic reports to USDA and ACDI/VOCA headquarters

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• M.S., M.B.A., or other post-graduate degree in a relevant field
• minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience, preferably in Africa
• previous Chief of Party experience preferred
• experience with the cocoa sector in West Africa preferred
• excellent communication and reporting skills
• fluency in oral and written English
