Our client is a leading, branding agency that creates and builds leading images and commercially effective brands through driven thinking, commitment and smart design. They are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller for their New York Office. Partnering the MD and working with the Group Financial Director and management team, this role will develop appropriate strategic financial process and support to drive the growth of the business, influence commercial decision-making and maximise profit across revenue streams.
The role will ensure accurate financial & management accounting, leading to insightful management information for business planning. They will need to develop robust growth plans and forecasts to enable the growth and development of the company.
The person: qualified accountant with strong attention to detail and a proven track record of working at this level, contributing to the growth of a company. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to influence and lead colleagues. The ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and constantly strive to identify inefficiencies and suggest and implement procedural improvements.
Duties include;
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies
• Responsibility for enforcing the policies and governance set forth by the Board in the operation of the business.
• Devise, manage and report on Company/Individual KPI targets and link to Incentive schemes
• Contribute to the achievement of the company objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
• Update the MD and Group FD regularly, keeping them informed of NY progress and provide guidance/advice on the likely consequences of proposed courses of actions
• Review reports and analyse projections of sales and income against actual figures and suggests methods of improving the planning process
• Ensure that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place to guide financial decision-making.
• To ensure the Company meets its financial and legal responsibilities.
• Plan and manage the Company’s tax liabilities under existing and proposed legislation, ensuring all liabilities are met
• To perform the role of Company secretary
• Cash forecasting/plan, monitor, control Cash flow and maximise working capital
• Key contact with the banks and auditors
• Day-to-day accounting - bank reconcilations, purchase (accounts payable) and sales ledger (accounts receivable)
