Applications are invited for a Technician to work with Professor Jane Memmott on a £656k ecology project funded by NERC.
The aim of the project is to initiate a major change in the way we study food webs and the successful Technician will run the field work in New Zealand for a period of six months. The programme will ask how food webs from different habitats interact and how different combinations of habitats in the UK and in New Zealand affect the structure of the resultant landscape food webs, along with the delivery of ecosystem services such as pest control and pollination.
The Technician will work alongside the two post doctoral research assistants employed on the project and collaborate with Dr Steve Gregory in Computer Sciences at the University of Bristol, Professor Simon Potts at the University of Reading and staff at the seven Wildlife Trusts in Southwest England.
An ability to relocate to New Zealand for a six month period and satisfy the New Zealand immigration requirements are essential for this post.
The appointment is for three years with a suggested start date of April/May 2013.
